Cine Gear to see first demonstrations of Next Generation Small Form Factor Media Storage System Storage that

can deliver 10 million random read IOPS of storage performance

May 23, 2018 – Atlanta,, an entirely new concept in media storage recently launched by
DigitalGlue, has added the //BREATHLESS system to its On-Premise Managed Storage™️ (OPMS) service and
has announced that it will be demonstrated at Cine Gear in Booth B115. //BREATHLESS, developed to target
video production, VFX, and Content Distribution Networks, is a 36-bay all-flash NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory
Express) packed into a 1U form factor with the capability to deliver 10 million random read IOPS of storage
performance. DigitalGlue, a leading equipment, integration, and software development provider, also designs
and implements turnkey solutions for content creation, post-production, and distribution. enhances collaborative workflows by optimizing the latest, most advanced hardware and
software for efficiency and increased productivity via its OPMS. The all-inclusive solution is offered at a
monthly rate based upon 1, 2, or a 3-year contract.

//BREATHLESS provides an incomparable experience by performing 10 million random read IOPS
(Input/Output Operations per Second) of storage performance (up to 475,000 per drive). The //BREATHLESS
Next Generation Small Form Factor (NGSFF) media storage system packs 36 front-serviceable NVMe SSD bays
in only 1 RU. This system is more than ready for 4K, 6K, and even 8K uncompressed workflows using JPEG2000,
DPX, multi-channel OpenEXR, and more. 4TB NVMe SSDs are currently available, however they will be
available in 16TB later this year, allowing 576 TB of Flash storage to fit in 1 RU.

Each of the 36 NGSFF SSD bays connects to the motherboard directly over PCIe to deliver maximum potential
performance. With dual Intel Skylake-SP CPUs and 24 DDR4 DIMMs of memory, this system is perfect for I/O
intensive local workloads, not just for high-end VFX, but also real-time analytics, database, and OTT content
delivery servers.

“//BREATHLESS will literally take your breath away,” exclaimed Tim Anderson, DigitalGlue CEO/CTO. “With the
demand for 4K, HDR, and IMF delivery, VFX and finishing houses are left with few options that provide the
performance, scale, and affordability needed to provide high-quality content on-time and on budget.
//BREATHLESS provides the hardware necessary to eliminate the bottlenecks that cause delays, stretch
budgets and lower the overall quality of the production. Productions need affordable SSD storage that can
handle the bandwidth and IOPS artists need to achieve uninterrupted creative flow, and //BREATHLESS
certainly delivers!”

//BREATHLESS key features include:

  • All Flash NVMe storage solution
  • 1U form factor
  • 10M IOPS (User Mode Driver)
  • 36 NGSFF NVMe SSDs with hot swap
  • Front loading in 1U
  • Half petabyte in 1U form factor
  • Balanced storage network architecture with up to 300Gbps NIC throughputs

//BREATHLESS is the second system to launch, joining //AUTEUR that has already set a new
standard for affordable collaborative media storage. Starting with 120TB RAW capacity across 12 drives in a 24-bay 4 RU chassis, //AUTEUR affords clients room to grow quickly. Every system is custom-built to address
each client's unique needs. Entry level systems are designed for small to medium workgroups using
compressed 4K, 6K, and 8K workflows and can scale for 4K uncompressed workflows (including 4K OpenEXR)
and large multi-user environments.

//BREATHLESS’s OPMS features 24/7 monitoring, technical support, and next-day repairs for an all-inclusive,
affordable, fixed monthly rate of $2,495.00, based on a 3-year contract (16 TB of SSD).
